The Pamir Trail in Tajikistan

The Pamir Trail is a work-in-progress initiative by expedition leader Jan Bakker and others to connect paths carved out by shepherds from one side of the country to another.

They are mapping their progress across 1,000 kilometers of mountainous terrain, developing plans for new bridges and researching ways to connect hikers with the country. The end goal is to support sustainable tourism in Tajikistan while also ensuring this beautiful region remains protected. Rana Labs was brought on to support the post-production process of the footage shot in country by the award-winning filmmaker Michel Fakhoury. This short film shows a glimpse of the beauty and the challenges that come with this ambitious project.
